"Not A Sweet Bedtime Story" - TOMORROW’S VIG, by Martin Eaton

"Not A Sweet Bedtime Story" - TOMORROW’S VIG, by Martin Eaton

Williamsburg, Brooklyn—long a catalyst forging incredible music and art talent—has created another: artist, author and filmmaker, Martin Eaton bringing his singular exhibit TOMORROW’S VIG to AM:PM. A raw and unfiltered dive into storytelling and one-of-a-kind visuals that flips the gallery 'everyday' to present both art and word in a way not seen in these spaces.

Hand-picked, they aim for the throat, and hit with a gut punch. Bold, loud and speaking about truth clashes that set you on your heels promising sweetness and beauty before blindsiding with nightmares and tragedy. It's calculated trickery—an architect's manipulation of modern viewers and their self-inflicted attention span wounds.

But it's just a taste—a handful of select pieces from what will be a bi-annual coffee table book collection, spanning genres. "I want off years to be gluttonous—one theme, one genre. Family. Love. Horror. But every two years? A full collection, mixed stories," says the artist.

A curated selection pulls viewers through worlds where personal hopes face unavoidable reality. The artist's nine foot displays demand attention, grab you, shake up your headspace, and disrupt your whole flow, like an unexpected punchline or a beat drop that hits too hard.

Eaton doesn’t play nice with old rules. It's the Brooklyn influence. His art and words refuse to fit inside one neat little box. It presents heart, grit, and suffering in a gallery polished package. You come in smiling. You leave wrecked, but grinning. That's his mission.

Glory: Glorifying the Beauty of the Island and the Horrors of the Colony

Glory: Glorifying the Beauty of the Island and the Horrors of the Colony

Our exhibit, 'GLORY: Glorifying the beauty of the Island and the Horrors of the Colony' was hosted in collaboration with Artists For Puerto Rico in the historically Boricua community of Los Sures, Williamsburg. It calls for artists to highlight the dichotomy that is our Island in all its beauty and all its distress. As a colony of whom some of its indigenous culture has persisted and much of its current culture is heavily influenced by its various colonizers, we recognize our identity is complicated. Though complicated, we survive and thrive in joy and glory.
